Prentice Family Law is a specialist family law firm, which advises on and deals with all aspects of family law, specialising in high value, complex financial cases in both the UK and internationally, pensions on divorce/civil partnerships, private children disputes and pre-nuptial and post nuptial agreements.
This specialist family law firm was set up by Paul Prentice who has over 20 years’ experience in practicing family law. Paul was previously the senior partner in the Family Law department in firms in Kingston and Shepperton, but decided that he wanted to build a firm that specialised only in family law. Our firm is built around the client and their needs. We provide exceptional customer service which puts the client first at what is a difficult time. With this in mind Paul wanted to make things as convenient for the clients as possible, by offering appointments at times to suit the client.

We believe in working together with our clients in order to achieve the best possible result for you. Our service and advice is tailored towards the individual and so if someone would prefer guidance and advice so they deal with matters themselves we are happy to assist in this way.

You do not need to be concerned about location when instructing a solicitor. We have an office base in Guildford and in Weybridge, but are able to serve clients in any location. We are happy to communicate by telephone, email, letter, Skype or in person. We understand that you may want to talk to a solicitor urgently and will always call you back the same day. We are happy to meet or talk to our clients 7 days a week, with no difference in our standard charging rate.

Paul Prentice

I have specialised in family law for over 20 years and have a broad range of experience in all aspects of family law. I have particular expertise in financial cases involving substantial income and capital, both in this country and abroad, including complex business and trust structures and substantial property portfolios. I am passionate and committed to helping all my clients through what I understand is a very difficult time. I try to focus on ensuring that parties separate as amicably as they can, regardless of the reasons the marriage broke down. I also concentrate on prioritizing the children’s needs and getting both parties to focus on what is in their children’s best interests.

I specialise in all aspects of work relating to Family Law, offering advice on all the legal and financial consequences resulting from the breakdown of a relationship. I have acted for a wide range of clients, including high net worth financial claims, assisting them to resolve their disputes both through the court system and outside the court , using my skills and experience.

I have built a successful practice on the basis of a common sense approach that is aimed at finding solutions at the earliest possible opportunity for the benefit of all involved.

Zara Prentice

As well as being Paul’s sister I am a family law solicitor with 15 years’ experience. I began my career in Guildford, qualifying in 1996, where I spent my time establishing and developing family law and litigation departments. In 1998 I moved to Sydney, Australia and practised with a large city firm, before returning to the UK to continue building a client base in and around Surrey, specialising in Family Law.

I provide expert legal advice on all aspects of family disputes from private child issues such as child care arrangements, divorce and financial matters, negotiating settlements of all values, to breakdown of civil partnerships.

I take a pragmatic and common sense approach to solving my client’s cases and I am committed to providing clear and cost effective advice. I always have my client’s best interests at heart and will offer you support throughout.

I appreciate that it is not always convenient for you to make appointments during office hours and so I am able to offer out of hours meetings.

The vast majority of my new clients come from recommendations from current or previous clients.

Sarah Prentice

As well as being Paul’s wife, I work as the legal assistant. I am also responsible for the smooth running of the firm in respect of both administration and finance.
